On average, over 9% of children between the ages of 4 and 17 years old are labeled with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) every year. And because of that word – “disorder” – many of these children are automatically placed in special education programs designed to treat ADHD characteristics as a disability.
But when we discover that many of the behavioral descriptions associated with ADHD are the same traits found in highly creative minds – such as daydreaming, mind wandering, sensation seeking and higher levels of energy, impulsivity, and spontaneous idea generation – we begin to understand the exceptional potential of a child with ADHD.
At YHA, we can help you help your child to unlock – and even unleash – that potential.
ADHG Parenting Classes
Introducing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Gift (ADHG), a unique class dedicated to a single group of people: parents of children with ADHD.
ADHG is taught personally by Brian Garlock, the owner and Clinical Director of Youth Health Associates and someone who has lived with the challenges of ADHD his entire life. This is the unique opportunity to learn from a qualified and experienced professional who can also provide invaluable insights and understanding that can only from personal experience.
Classes meet on the third Thursday of every month from 7 – 8:30 pm and class sizes are kept extremely small to ensure the greatest degree of personalized attention. If you have a child that’s been diagnosed with or shows signs of ADHD, we invite you to sign up below for an educational experience that can help you help your child discover and develop their special gifts.
ADHG Out-Patient Services
YHA also provides individual outpatient ADHD services. As an actively licensed clinical social worker, Brian Garlock shares his education, expertise, and personal experiences in one-on-one sessions with any child facing the challenges of ADHD.
